Abstract

The video stresses the importance of community participation. Two communities are depicted in which the goverment provided solutions in the form of drilled wells and pumps without consulting the beneficiaries. Eighty per cent of the pumps were broken down after a few years due to lack of maintenance. The project team acknowledge that technology alone is not enough. The results of the projects in Ayole are shown, after involvement of the villagers.
