Abstract

This paper describes the development of a digital map series of the city of Ibadan in Nigeria. The work was carried out by German consultants as part of a water rehabilitation study funded by the African Development Bank (ADB) on behalf of the Water Corporation of Oyo State (WCOS). The paper discusses the procedures which have been employed; the suitability of the digital maps as a digital land base for developing a geographical information system (GIS); and training needs.
