Abstract

This manual presents information on infections related to water and environmental sanitation (WES) in relation to the interventions that fieldworkers typically control, i.e: water supply, sanitation, drainage, solid waste management, and vector control. It also looks at the background of WES projects. The annexes provide information in list and tabular form on infections related to WES; vector-borne infections; chlorination of drinking water; sizing pits for latrines; designing a simple drainage system for stormwater; and finally minimum standards in emergencies.
