Abstract

The aim of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) guidelines is to help operate and maintain small towns’ water supply systems in a manner to "ensure sustainability through an effective overall administrative, technical and financial management of the systems by appointed WSDBs with the support of relevant public and private sector institutions".

The guidelines cover O&M roles and responsibilities, performance monitoring, water quality monitoring, environmental and social safeguards, capacity building, tariff setting, management information systems, private sector participation, quality control, transport and logistics, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.
