Abstract

This report provides experience-based methodologies for the development of rural sanitation markets in Vietnam. The first sections describe market based methodologies, and starting with field research, take the reader through the various steps involved in developing and implementing a marketing strategy. The latter section of the report assesses the issues for mainstreaming these methodologies throughout Vietnam, and provides recommendations and next steps towards an institutional framework to support on-going national and donor-funded initiatives. The report is intended to be relevant to a broad audience including practitioners, policy makers, and donors. (Author's abstract)
