Ensuring universal access to safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030 requires collective effort, finance and cooperation to deliver the targets across the entire water cycle. With support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, IRC is working with government and partners towards providing 100% sustainable WASH services in the Asutifi North district in Ghana and in the Kabarole District in Uganda. The collective efforts of these partners have resulted in a jointly developed WASH district master plans to attain universal and sustainable access to WASH services in the districts by 2030.

In a two-fold session of opening presentations and panel discussion, the event will showcase the experience in developing a shared vision, resource mobilisation, and monitoring for results as reflected in the respective WASH master plans for addressing universal WASH coverage with the two districts and partnerships forged for delivery. It will also show how the local government authorities (Asutifi North District Assembly and Kabarole District Authority) are leading harmonised district level work, in support of national WASH governance systems to build an evidence base for successful universal services within the districts for possible replication across Ghana and Uganda, and in time in other countries.
