Abstract

This woreda (district) WASH master plan contains the vision and strategies of Shashamane district Woreda (pop. 297,646) in West Arsi Zone of Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. It aims for universal access to basic water and sanitation and hygiene services for the entire population of the woreda by 2030, including schools and health care facilities, and 30% coverage for safe manged services. The master plan is framed within the targets of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6). It contains a detailed plan for water, sanitation and hygiene and institutional WASH components. The master plan includes a situational analysis, strategic directions, estimated costing and financing, a proposed monitoring and evaluation programme and overview of planning tools.
