This resource guide, compiled by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), contains a brief summary of women's issues in development, recommendations for enhancing the participation of women in development projects, and an extensive annotated bibliography of published information on women, water and sanitation. The bibliography is divided into four sections; water and sanitation, hygiene education, irrigation and water management, and available videos. Key institutions and resources mentioned in the guide as sources for further information and/or courses include PROWWESS, the UN INSTRAW institute, IRC in The Netherlands, WASH in the USA, CD Resources and WEDC in England.
